For this job, I’ve done a preventive maintenance on an indoor and outdoor rem system. I checked all draws between the compressors fan motors, contactors, and capacitors. Also checking the refrigerant charge and make sure the drain line was blown out. Also checked for a good tip split and made sure the sub going superheat or within spec at this time this system is running and operating correctly for the summertime.
For this job, I arrived and was informed the system had frozen up yesterday upon inspection and hooking my gauges up to the system. I noticed the refrigerant charge was really low indicating a leak somewhere. I spent the next few hours leak checking with a sniffer, running it in both heat and cool mode and I found a very small leak on the liquid lines king valve repaired the leak and charge the system up with 3 1/2 pounds of 410 a refrigerant.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, we stand behind the quality of our workmanship and offer guarantees on our repair and installation services.
In many cases, replacing an old AC unit is more cost-effective in the long run than repairing it repeatedly.
Older units are often less energy-efficient and more prone to breakdowns, leading to higher energy bills and repair costs over time. Additionally, newer models come with advanced features and technologies that can improve comfort and save money on energy expenses.
Therefore, if the repair costs are significant or if the unit is nearing the end of its lifespan, replacing it with a newer, more efficient model may be the better option.
There are several indicators that it might be time to replace your AC unit. These include…
- Frequent breakdowns
- Rising energy bills
- Inconsistent cooling
- Continual strange odors or noises
Additionally, if your system uses an outdated refrigerant that's being phased out, such as R-22, replacement might be more cost-effective than repairing.
Repair appointments are made to fix damages or issues to your heating system. At McNorton Mechanical, this includes a professional assessment, transparent conversations, and effective solutions.
There are many reasons to install a heat pump, including:
