This job are done a preventive maintenance for the indoor and outdoor system checking all amp draws between the compressors, contactors fan motors, and capacitors all and drawls tested out by then move to checking pressures. This is a TXV so we will monitor it by the sub, cool sub cool, was testing out. Customer stated they were having a compressor rotor lockout on the thermostat and she had to reset the system for the system to work I checked the amp draws on the capacitor and the capacitor tested out fine being a 40 x 5 micro fan capacitor. I spoke with the customer about the possibilities of putting a hard start on the system to help decompressor customer said they will consider it but for now Not to worry about it. I checked my temp split and got a 18° temperature split and at this time, no codes are on the thermostat and the system is operating correctly.

For this job, I done a preventive maintenance on the indoor and outdoor system. This was a summertime p.m. checking to make sure the system will function and operate correctly during the hot parts of the year. I started the system by checking the amp draws between the compressor contactors and fan motors associated with the indoor and outdoors systems. I checked to make sure the thermostat was probably calling and sending it 24 V signal as well as checking the refrigerant levels. Customer stated he has had no issues with the system and after completing the PM this system is running and operating correctly.

For this job, I did any preventive maintenance on an inside air handler and outside condensing unit. The inside air handler looked fairly new with our name on it as installers. I started the system in cool mode testing all the amp draws between the capacitors contactors fan motors and compressor also checked refrigerant levels Making sure both high-pressure and low pressure suction line and liquid line was charged correctly sub cool and superheat were within great standing as well as the liquid and suction line temperature. I didn’t check the system in heat mode making sure the heat pump and electric heat kit was working properly also checking amp draws Between the heat kit contactors and fan motor also checked the 24 V making sure we were getting a call between YNW heat and cool also swapped out the filters provided by the customer.

For this job, I arrived and noticed the system inside and outside was not running upon inspection. I noticed a three amp fuse on the control board was popped and needed to be replaced after replacing it and turning the system back on that fuse again popped upon further inspection and putting my proper tool on The fuse, kept tripping my relay I seen the resistor was burnt up in the control board and started pinpointing where it was coming from upon further inspection. It was then determined the control board was fried and needs to be replaced. I have one ordered and it should be here Friday at some point for us to come and replace it. An update for this job. The new control board was picked up and installed into the system. After replacing the control board and turning the system on the system is operating and cooling efficiently.

For this job, I’ve done the second preventive maintenance, checking app draws for the compressors, contactors fan motors, etc. also checked low-voltage 24 V going into both side sides of the contactor and made sure the thermostat was calling in both heat and cool mode. I checked the refrigerant levels sub cool and superheat was fine with a 20° temp split at the air handler in cool mode. At this moment this system is running and operating correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Repairs should be done when you notice there is a problem with your heating system. These signs could range from noises, unusually high energy bills, or extremely hot and cold areas.

Repairs may feel inevitable, but they don’t have to be. Regular maintenance checks, especially before the cold weather sweeps in, will help you catch early issues before they become a costly problem.

Heat pumps are the most common heating system in Pace due to their efficiency and ability to provide both heating and cooling. They are also well-suited for Pace’s moderate climate.

However, that doesn’t necessarily mean a heat pump is the best choice for your home. Contact McNorton Mechanical to discuss your specific heating needs, budget, and goals.

In general, heating costs can be higher than cooling costs due to the energy required to maintain warmth. However, efficient systems like heat pumps can help manage these costs effectively.

There are many reasons to install a heat pump, including:

  • Eco-friendliness
  • Cost efficiency
  • Easy installment

There are many signs for when a heat pump may need repairing or replacing, including:

  • Being older than 10 years
  • Energy bills are unusually high
  • Areas in your home are too hot or too cold
  • The heat pump needs frequent repairs

Whether it's worth fixing a furnace depends on its age, the extent of the repairs needed, and the cost. If repairs are minor and the furnace is relatively new, it’s often worth fixing. For older units with significant issues, replacement might be more cost-effective.

If your furnace is running but not producing heat, it could be due to a malfunctioning thermostat, a clogged filter, or an issue with the heating elements. Contact our professional technicians to diagnose and fix the problem.
